I’d prefer she did her hair, though, so I introduced her to some items that would make doing her hair a bit less frightening (for both of us) and guess what? They work! Read more

Shopping for my oldest nephew has always been difficult — My brother’s in the military so they move every few years to places that aren’t exactly close to home and I don’t see them that often. Now that he’s a full-fledged teen I was feeling completely lost on what kind of Christmas gift to get him this year. Shopping for my daughter or my niece is easy for me, shopping for my oldest nephew? Not so much. Fortunately, my nephew happened to reach out about a fundraiser for his school basketball team and then just a week later I learned about the opportunity to check out the new NBA Reflective Collection Clothing at select Target stores! I adore giving gifts that people want and appreciate, but it’s always a bonus for me if the gift fills a need or practical use. Now that I know he plays basketball, getting him reflective clothing made for basketball players seems like the perfect gift. I’m so ready to be the favorite aunt. Read more

It’s going to rain eventually, maybe not much, and no one is quite sure when . . . but it will rain. Right? Usually, it’s when you’ve rushed the kids out of the house to get them to school on time only to arrive and notice that the sky looks a bit cloudy and something just dropped on your head. Now your nose. Full on sprinkling starts and the kids don’t have a jacket of any kind because the weather’s been fluctuating between 76-90 degrees the last few weeks. This is when keeping a raincoat (along with all the other
junk useful kids items) in the trunk is a huge help. You look like a super prepared parent who of course knew it would rain, your kids aren’t constantly complaining about being drenched all day when you pick them up and you don’t have to deal with them getting sick from the little no coat fiasco.
